1.  General of Technical Center

Technical Center is listed at the first batch of the enterprise technical centers of Shanxi Province certified by the State. This Technical Center has, in combination with the colleges and universities concerned, set up TZ-Dongda Rolling Equipment United Research Section, TZ-Kuangda Mineral Processing Engineering United Research Section, TZ-Jiaoda Heavy Transportation Equipment United Research Section, TZ-Zhongyuan Lifting Equipment United Technical Center, etc. Co-operative Development and Research may be unfolded by utilizing the superior talents and test facilities of the universities and colleges.

2. Technical Quality

Currently this Technical Center is staffed by 467 technical personnel, including Technical Management Department, Comprehensive Management Department, Finance Department, 6 products design institutes, 6 section, 2 technology institutes, Taiyuan Heavy Industry Science & Technology Industry Co., Ltd, TZ Computer Net Center and High-Tech Industry Development Co. Currently, it has 5 doctor postgraduates under study, 11 postgraduates with master degree, 367 university graduates, 19 professor-level senior engineers, 258 senior engineers, 124 technical personnel with middle technical title (engineer, economist and accountant, etc.) This institute has set up 13 specialized sections with specialities including measurement and control, electrics, hydraulics, lubrication, drive and CAD, etc., which undertake design and development relating to forging, steel rolling, lifting, excavation, coal gasifier, coal processing, pressure vessel, metallurgy, environmental protection, completion of electrics, hydraulic system, special engineering and computer net technology, etc. It is equipped with advanced test instruments imported from Germany, America, Japan, Denmark and Sweden, etc., owning advanced and modernized science, research and design means. 

3. Main Achievements of Technical Development

TYHI is one of the largest heavy machinery manufacturing backbone  enterprises. It boasts of big and complete varieties, high technical level and good quality of its products. For recent years TYHI has been persistently made efforts to do a lot of and effective work and obtained gratifying achievements regarding products’ development, science and research, new products’ trial make, standardization, digestion and absorption of introduction of technology, innovation, popularization and application of new technology, etc. It has accumulatively completed 195 trial makes of new products, among which province- and- ministry-level projects cover over 55%. It has completed 400 science and research projects, among which province-and-ministry-level key project cover over 50%, standardization revision project cover 319 among which 70 projects meet the requirements of industrial and national standards. Over the years it has won over 126 city-level or above prizes, among which national invention rewards are 2, state-level science and technology progress rewards 10, ministry-level and province-level rewards 94, state invention patents 12, applicable new patents 11 and gold medals of the state good quality products 3. Because of advantageous condition, solid foundation, advanced science and technology, outstanding talents team and strong design capability, totally over 200 state, ministry and province progress achievement rewards have been won.
